Hi Cathy! I went to Tantec Electronics before Christmas and they had a limited promotional offer on. I ended up going through xplornet wireless (I was told it's faster, cheaper and more reliable than xplornet satelite). The one time activation fee was $49 and I pay $40/mnth for a two year plan...normally that plan is $50/mnth. To get a signal, they told us that we needed a tower ($100 a foot...yeah right) to clear the trees. Instead, T ripped the old free standing peasant-vision antenna off of his parents house and attached it to ours. Haha! He predrilled the holes needed to thread the cable through so that we didn't have to pay for any extra service fees. I suppose if you were to talk to your closest electronics shop, they might be able to set you up with a decent deal (and hopefully you get a good signal where you're living). I guess these companies come out with promo deals fairly often. I hope you're able to get it! It really is the difference between a water pistol and an M16!
