The Backstreet Boys played a few nights in Belfast last autumn and apparently they went to a bar for a few drinks. However in this particular venue, if you are in the bottom bar you are not permitted to take your drinks to the upper bar. But one of them, AJ I believe it was tried to go up regardless with his drink and was promptly held back by a bouncer. And he used the immortal line 'don't you know who I am?' The bouncer replied with something along the lines of ' I don't give a flying fuck who you think you are, you're not going upstairs with that drink' and the rest of the band tried to intervene and the result was they were all kicked out of the Bot. Not something you'd be boasting about.
Is it just me, or is bigotry getting out of hand again? Not that it's ever completely disappeared. When people are paying to listen to this shit I think we're due for another big hippie-type generation (without all the acid) to push the hatred back down to a smoulder.
Lucky for us, we'll have Ms. Sexy Bangs manning the telephone and calling in airstrikes against the Glen Beck brigade.
