3 hours ago near Toronto, Ontario · With a slight smile on her face - and very peacefully in her sleep, Barbara Mey Alibhai
passed away this morning. I was with her. I will post information
regarding the funeral and "wake" for those that are in Vancouver and
want to attend.

That was a short illness, 1st discovery being at the end of Nov 2012...yet it feels like it has been forever. Sometimes the end is a blessing when you know people are in pain and not themselves.
Tough on her husband and children I am sure...never easy to say good bye to the person who brought you into the world...and loved like you no one else.

Just wanted to thank you for this montage and thoughts about Barb. I am a childhood friend of hers and memories of her from Egypt and then again knew her in Geneva, particuarly live on in my mind. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
So sad isn't it...I never had enough time to explore our friendship...it was new and on fire and then shut down in such a swift fashion. Grateful for knowing her at all though, she was a wonderful spirit...and a beautiful creature.
Nice that you have such fond memories of her...she seems to have touch many ppl in the same way - such a warm person.
I'm so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. She must have been a wonderfully vibrant person and I am sure she will be terribly missed.
Thanks Barb...she made a big impression on a lot of people in her life...makes you think about how your own funeral would be...which is a weird moment in ones head...and makes you think twice about how you treat people that is for sure.
